Testimonial dramatizations based on experiences of actual Inada chair users.

(Narrator)
“Life today runs at a breakneck speed, filled with tension and constant pressure. All this stress not only hurts your quality of life, it can ruin your health. It’s time to catch your breath; clear your mind; and head to a place of inner peace, relaxation, and well being, where noise and commotion disappear and the healing begins. Welcome to the world of INADA!

“Experience Inada where the latest wonders of technology deliver the ancient healing powers of massage. If you live in the modern world and deal with all its stresses, the Inada chair is for you.”

(Brian)
“My name is Brian, I’m forty-two years old, and I am the vice president of production. It’s fast-paced and it’s intense from the second I get there to the second I leave. I have a number of people that report to me who are working on multiple projects simultaneously, and there is just a constant demand for my time. We’ve got deadlines; we’ve got very serious deadlines on the projects that we work on, and so, not only do we have the internal pressures of the day to day operations, but we have the external pressures of the clients that depend on us. If I had to sum it up in one word, it’d be intense.”

(Liz)
“My name is Liz. I’m thirty years old. I’m a gym owner and fulltime personal trainer. My day starts very early in the morning. I usually have my first appointment at about 6 a.m. with a client. I work with a lot of clients throughout the day, working on their personal training routines. I spend a lot of time guiding them, making sure that they are doing their workouts safely, properly, and of course, when I’m working out myself, you know, I want to make sure that I’m getting the most out of the little bit of time that I have.”

(Tony)
“My name’s Tony. I’m sixty-seven years old, a retired politician. The three most important things in my life are family, friends, and golf. My day starts about mid morning, head to the golf course, meet my friends, and tee it up on the first tee. Playing golf with my buddies is the reason I retired.”

(Narrator)
“Whether it’s the stiff neck that comes with the pressures of the workplace, the sore legs and calves that follow a workout, or the nagging back pain that gets in the way of your favorite activities—no matter what your age or occupation—stress and strain are simply a fact of life. Inada understands the pressure and tension, and no matter what your specific situation, the Inada chair suits all your needs.”

(Tony)
“I knew I was going to slow down, but I didn’t anticipate the aches and pains that I was going to experience. The pain in my back really interferes with my golf swing.”

(Liz)
“It’s very important to me to stay active, and I’m incredibly active and I enjoy that, but I have started to feel the strain kicking in. I’m still very young, but the back, the legs—I really feel it, and being on my feet all day and spending so much time being active, it really has started to take a toll.”

(Brian)
“I’ve been athletic all my life. I played baseball in college, and through the years had a number of injuries, some minor, some major, but the one recurring injury that comes back to haunt me in my mid forties is my lower back. When I wake up in the morning, there’s a lot of tension that’s built up there, so it takes me a few minutes to get loose and to get going. And, when I’m having a bad day and when things are really tense, I feel it in my lower back.”

(Narrator)
“The Inada experience eases the tensions and soothes the stresses for a simple reason: It delivers the healing power of massage. For thousands of years, massage has been an essential part of medical traditions around the world. From the deep tissue rub of Swedish massage to the gentle tapping of Shiatsu, these healing arts are applied not only to alleviate aches and pains, but also to treat a wide variety of diseases. According to these medical traditions, massage stimulates the body’s natural energy centers to promote health and well being.

“Today, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, researchers are studying massage and discovering its many benefits. For university professor and physician Dr. Danny Mistry, the ancient art of massage is a potent treatment for modern day medical problems.”

(Dr. Danny Mistry)
“Massage therapy heals. Stress creates the imbalance in the body, in the nervous system. Massage reverses that imbalance and creates balance.”

(Narrator)
“When we encounter a stressful situation, the body springs into action: The heart races, breathing becomes more rapid, and blood pressure rises. Muscles tense as the body prepares to defend itself. The impact of long-term chronic stress can be devastating, leading to heart disease, stroke, digestive disorders, and a host of other ailments. Fortunately, with the healing touch of massage, much of the damage caused by stress can be undone.”

(Dr. Danny Mistry)
“What massage therapy does, is it reverses—it reverses signs and symptoms induced by chronic stress. It reduces your heart rate, reduces your blood pressure, enhances your blood flow to the stomach, creates a sense of well being, reduces depression, reduces anxiety, reduces panic disorders, and enhances functions within the body that reverses the effects of chronic stress.”

(Narrator)
“For Dr. Mistry, massage also taps into something deeper”:

(Dr. Danny Mistry)
“Massage is really good for the soul. It enhances the little—the little internal environment of the body in so many fine ways.”

(Narrator)
“Just as the latest medical research reveals the importance of massage, more and more health care practitioners are turning to the time-honored therapy. Since 1997, the number of Americans who received massage therapy during the course of a year has more than doubled. For a society on the go, massage offers an escape from the vicious cycle of day-to-day stress. The Inada chair lets you enjoy the benefits of massage at your convenience.”

(Liz)
“Well, I’ve tried all sorts of things: over-the-counter pain medication, hours in the sauna, lots of good stretching—massage I’ve always found to be very beneficial, but it’s difficult to fit it into my busy schedule. Then a client told me about the Inada chair.”

(Tony)
“I have a friend who’s a chiropractor. He recommended the Inada chair—best piece of advice I ever got.”

(Narrator)

(Nichimu Inada)
“My company’s mission is to bring happiness and health to people around the world. It is my personal mission as well.”

(Narrator)
“For over forty years, this conviction has guided Family Inada and has shaped the design of the Inada chair. The history of Inada is literally the history of the massage chair. And, just as Inada has defined the massage chairs of the past, the company’s emphasis on research and development ensures that they will lead the industry into the future.”

(Nichimu Inada)
“I started the company in 1962 when I was twenty-two years old. Our first massage chair was a simple one, with two rollers that simply moved up and down. Year after year, we expanded upon that original design, creating new models of the Inada chair with increasingly advanced features and technology. In 2001, we introduced the world’s first massage chair with state-of-the-art infrared pressure point detection technology to scan the user’s body and give a customized massage. We will continue to research and develop massage chairs so that we can bring total relaxation to our customers.”

(Narrator)
“The tradition of research and innovation at Inada leads to more than new products: It furthers the understanding and appreciation of the medical benefits of the Inada chair. In Japan, the Inada chair is known as the medical chair and has been formally approved by the Japanese government for use in nonclinical massage and acupressure therapy. For Nuchimu Inada, the chair is the perfect tool for any…”
